The World Famous Kalle Lind pointed me in the direction of Mouseflow. A tool that lets you see heatmaps, click confetti and watch realtime mouse tracking of your site’s visitors. It’s a bit weird, but I can see the benefits of usability studies without the need for one-way glass. You’d need to make sure it was covered in your site’s privacy terms, but I still feel a little ooky and voyeuristic watching the playback despite not really collecting any data we’re not already getting through Google Analytics or CrazyEgg.
